SALON – Society for the Arts of the Long Nineteenth Century is a Netherlands- and Belgium-based platform dedicated to the study of art and art history from c. 1789–1914. Inspired by the spirit of nineteenth-century salons, it connects researchers, museum professionals, students, and enthusiasts through dialogue, events, and digital initiatives to foster fresh perspectives and collaboration across borders. Reimagining the salon as a contemporary forum, SALON encourages critical engagement with the past and the diversity of the long nineteenth century.
